Abstract
Following Georges-Eugиne Haussmann's large-scale transformation of Paris,Walter Benjamin initiated a series of inquiries into the relationship between architecture and ideals,as well as human behavior. The accelerating process of urbanization and large-scale demographic migration has resulted not only in urban contraction and a"vacuum"in rural areas, but also in deeper reflections by designers involved in urban renewal and rural revitalization. These reflections concern the relationships between humans and the environment, history and the present,as well as ideals and reality.Grounded in Walter Benjamin's urban spatial theory, this study deconstructs classic urban renewal design projects through the core concepts of the collective unconscious, shock experience, and the ideal city and real streets. It aims to explore, from both philosophical and practical perspectives, how historical districts can balance the tension between history and modernity through spatial activation.关键词
