陕西麟游寿圣寺金代铁佛制造工艺浅析
Preliminary Analysis of the Manufacturing Techniques of the Iron Buddha from the Jin Dynasty at Shousheng Temple in Linyou,Shaanxi Province

Abstract
The iron buddha at Shousheng Temple in Linyou,Shaanxi,was cast in the first year of Chengan,Jin dynasty(AD 1196).Its structure can be divided into the upper iron buddha,the middle nine-layer lotus platforms,and the lower sumeru pedestal.Metallographic analysis reveals that the material at the buddha's legs is hypereutectoid steel,while the surface layer of the sumeru pedestal is hypoeutectic white cast iron,consistent with the characteristics of ancient large-scale iron castings.Energy spectrum data indicates the use of coal as fuel.The iron buddha was fabricated using a segmented casting and assembly method,and fixed with internal straight wooden rods for fixation.The iron buddha exhibits distinctive features in both material selection and construction techniques,reflecting not only the advanced iron smelting technology of the Jin dynasty but also the perfect integration of Buddhist culture and metal casting techniques.It provides important physical evidence for the study of religious art and handicraft development during the Jin dynasty.关键词
