An optimization method for capacity allocation of GFL and GFM converters consid-ering equivalent impedance at point of common coupling

Abstract
In hybrid wind farms with both grid-following(GFL)and grid-forming(GFM)converters,their capacity allocation significantly impacts the overall stability of the wind farm.To address this,an optimization method for ca-pacity allocation of GFL and GFM converters in hybrid direct-drive wind farms is proposed.First,an impedance model incorporating both GFL and GFM converters is developed to analyze the relationship between the GFM and GFL converter allocation and the overall stability of the wind farm.The stability of the hybrid wind farm is further evaluated using the impedance at the point of common coupling(PCC)and bifurcation theory.Second,accounting for variations in the grid-side equivalent impedance at the wind farm PCC,an optimization model is established with the objective of minimizing the proportion of GFM units while ensuring overall wind farm stability constraints.This model determines the optimal capacity allocation between GFL and GFM converters to enhance the security and sta-bility of wind farm operation.Finally,simulations conducted on the MATLAB/Simulink platform demonstrate that under both strong and weak grid conditions,the proposed method achieves shorter response times and superior sta-bility during both power command decrease and increase scenarios.关键词
