Abstract
Evaluation of the Safety of Ceftiofur Hydrochloride Injection in Target Animal Hu Sheep.To evaluate the safety of ceftiofur hydrochloride injection in target animal Hu sheep,48 young Hu sheep were randomly divided into a blank control group,a low-dose group,a medium-dose group,and a high-dose group,with 12 sheep in each group(half male and half female).The blank control group was administered normal saline,while the low-dose,medium-dose,and high-dose groups were given ceftiofur hydrochloride injection at doses of 1,3,and 5 times the recommended dose,respectively,and the injection administration was continued for 9 days.The results showed that after 9 consecutive days of administration at different doses,the feed intake,water intake,and mental state of Hu sheep in each dose group were normal,and no conditions such as diarrhea,constipation,or death were observed.Compared with the blank control group,there were no significant differences in body weight,body temperature,pulse,or respiratory rate of Hu sheep in the low-dose,medium-dose,and high-dose groups(P>0.05);there were no significant differences in various hematological indicators of Hu sheep in the low-dose,medium-dose,and high-dose groups(P>0.05);the contents of aspartate aminotransferase(AST)and alanine aminotransferase(ALT)in the serum of Hu sheep in the high-dose group were significantly increased(P<0.05),and the ALT content in the serum of Hu sheep in the medium-dose group was significantly increased(P<0.05),but both AST and ALT contents were within the reference ranges.Except for the two indicators(AST and ALT),there were no significant differences in the other serum indicators of Hu sheep in the low-dose,medium-dose,and high-dose groups compared with the blank control group(P>0.05).After slaughter and necropsy,no obvious pathological changes were observed on the surface of organ tissues such as the heart,liver,spleen,lungs,kidneys,stomach,pancreas,lymph nodes,cerebrum,cerebellum,and muscles of Hu sheep in the blank control group and high-dose group through visual inspection;hematoxylin-eosin(H&E)staining results showed that no obvious pathological changes were found in the heart,liver,spleen,lungs,and kidney tissues of Hu sheep in each group.These findings indicate that ceftiofur hydrochloride injection has high safety for Hu sheep when used at the recommended dose.关键词
