Abstract
Objective To explore the changes in research themes in the field of amblyopia in English-language liter-atures published between 2021 and 2025.Methods A bibliometric analysis was adopted.PubMed and Science Direct data-bases were used to retrieve English-language amblyopia-related literatures from 2021 to 2025.The bibliometrix tool was applied for quantitative analysis to summarize the research hotspots and their changing trends in the field of amblyopi-a.Results After retrieval and literature screening,a total of 1295 English-language papers on amblyopia were collected,among which international collaborative articles accounted for 5.57％.The number of primary research papers on amblyopia remained basically stable annually from 2021 to 2025.The top three countries with the most published articles in the field of amblyopia were China(380 papers,29.3％),the United States(190 papers,14.7％),and India(80 papers,6.2％).Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science was the journal with the most published amblyopia-related arti-cles.The research hotspots in amblyopia over the past five years included:diagnosis and treatment of strabismic amblyopia;visual rehabilitation of anisometropic amblyopia;amblyopia screening;binocular dichoptic training for amblyo-pia;patching therapy,suppression therapy,and their impacts on quality of life.The year 2023 was a branching node in amblyopia research,with partial shifts in research focus.Adult amblyopia is a clinically demanding field but with relatively few studies.Conclusion The number of primary research papers on amblyopia remains basically stable annually.China is currently the country with the most published articles in the field of amblyopia.Strabismic amblyopia,anisometropic amblyopia,and binocular dichoptic training are the main research hotspots in amblyopia over the past five years.关键词
