Characterization of Algal Residue Biochar and Its Study of Tetracycline Hydrochloride Removal from Wastewater

Abstract
The widespread use of tetracycline antibiotics in livestock and poultry breeding industry is likely to cause envi-ronmental pollution in surrounding waters.In this study,algae residue biochar was prepared by dry pyrolysis method,and tet-racycline hydrochloride in water environment was removed by adsorption method.The results showed that the algae residue biochar obtained by dry pyrolysis could effectively adsorb tetracycline hydrochloride in aquaculture wastewater.Changing the pyrolysis temperature would affect the specific surface area,graphitization degree and surface functional groups of algae resi-due biochar.The algae residue biochar prepared at 500 ℃ had the best adsorption effect on tetracycline hydrochloride.When the pH was 4.0,the removal effect of tetracycline hydrochloride was the best.The removal efficiency of tetracycline hydro-chloride was proportional to the dosage of algae residue biochar.The adsorption kinetics of tetracycline hydrochloride by algae residue biochar is more in line with the quasi-second-order kinetic equation.The adsorption isotherm conforms to the Lang-muir equation and belongs to single-layer adsorption.The adsorption process is affected by various adsorption mechanisms.The research results can provide a reference for the preparation of biochar from waste algae residue and the application of bio-char in the adsorption and separation of antibiotics in aquaculture wastewater.关键词
