Abstract

Based on environmental air quality and meteorological data from Ma'anshan City(2018-2023),combined with meteorological data from the Global Data Assimilation System(GDAS),this study analyzed the evolution characteristics of ozone(O3)pollution and the causes of a pollution episode.The results show that the annual average concentration of O3 shows a trend of increasing,then decreasing,then increasing,the seasonal average concentration shows a decreasing trend of summer,spring,autumn,and winter,the monthly average concentration shows a"bimodal"pattern,and the diurnal variation pattern is"unimodal".The typical O3 pollution process from 8 to 17 June 2023 was divided into three phases:aggregation(June 8th),pollution(June 9th to 16th)and dissipation(June 17th).During the pollution process,the O3 concentration was neg-atively correlated with the relative humidity and positively correlated with the temperature and wind speed,with high tempera-tures(29~36 ℃),low humidity(RH 17%~21%),and low wind speed(1.2~2.8 m/s)favorable for O3 generation;O3 pollution was significantly affected by the secondary transformation of the main precursors,VOCs and NOx,as well as by the transport of polluted air masses from the west and south-east.
