Big Data Empowers the Third Distribution to Promote Common Prosperity within Enterprises:A Quasi-Natural Experiment Based on a National-Level Big Data Comprehensive Pilot Zone

Abstract
As the most critical factor of production in the digital economy era,big data is an important force of common prosperity,yet research at the enterprise level remains insufficient.Based on the comprehensive level measurement model of common prosperity within enterprises in the CSMAR,which covers the indicators of primary distribution,redistribution and third distribution within enterprises to measure common prosperity within enterprises,taking the pilot policy of the big data comprehensive pilot zone as a quasi-natural experiment,the impact of big data development on common prosperity within enterprises is empirically examined using data from A-share listed companies in China from 2011-2022 by the Difference-In-Differences model.The study finds that big data development significantly improves the level of common prosperity within enterprises,and this conclusion remains valid after a series of robustness tests.Mechanism tests show that the development of big data enhances common prosperity within enterprises through two paths of alleviating financing constraints and improving digitalization level of enterprises.Heterogeneity analysis indicates that the promoting effect of big data development is more significant in the samples of state-owned enterprises,enterprises in the eastern region,non-high-tech enterprises,as well as capital-intensive and technology-intensive enterprises.关键词
