Design and Implementation of Microcomputer-Based Redundant Excitation Control for Diesel Locomotive

Abstract
Some diesel locomotives exported from China operate continuously for prolonged periods,have extended rescue cycles,suffer significant consequences when faults occur,and rely on non-redundant control systems due to cost constraints.To address these issues,this paper proposes the design of local hot-standby redundancy for the existing microcomputer-based control system and its peripheral circuits,including the signal source and drive hardware for excitation control.The design incorporates control software that adopts defensive programming to monitor the control signal source and excitation control function,and defines boundary conditions for triggering redundancy switching.Results from excitation control function redundancy testing conducted on site show that the proposed hot-standby redundancy method is straightforward,effective,and practical.关键词
