Quantitative evaluation of lateral sealing of Shahejie Formation faults in Hexiwu structural belt of Langgu Sag in Bohai Bay Basin

Abstract
Accumulation effect of drilled faults and traps in Hexiwu structural belt exhibits significant differences,and it is difficult to determine the extent of hydrocarbon sealed by various faults,which seriously restricts well de-ployment of undrilled traps in this zone and reservoir expansion during the stage of rolling exploration and develop-ment.Fault lateral sealing plays a crucial role in hydrocarbon preservation and enrichment.Starting from the hydro-carbon column height(H)and shale gouge ratio(ISGR)of fault traps in Hexiwu structural belt of Langgu Sag,fine reservoir dissection are conducted on drilled fault traps based on the identification of the main hydrocarbon sources and areal distribution of hydrocarbon accumulation.Oil and water units are divided to identify the hydrocarbon col-umn height and the critical value of ISGR for fault lateral sealing.The results show that both hydrocarbon column height and shale gouge ratio can be used to characterize the fault lateral sealing,exhibiting a logarithmic relation-ship.Based on the established evaluation chart for fault lateral sealing,the critical value of ISGR for fault lateral seal-ing in studied area is identified as 15.7%,and leakage of faults occurs when ISGR of undrilled trap-controlled faults exceeds the critical value.The research provides effective technical support for the exploration of favorable areas in fault-block oilfields.关键词
