Abstract

To meet the high-performance requirements for hydrogen pipeline materials in large-scale hydrogen transportation,SAWL welded steel pipe for pure-hydrogen transportation,with dimensions of Φ610 mm×14.3 mm,was developed using a low-carbon,low-manganese,and low-phosphorus,low-sulfur,low-oxygen,low-nitrogen,low-hydrogen microalloyed L360MH steel plate,jointly developed with a domestic steel manufacturer.Comprehensive evaluations were conducted on mechanical properties,microstructure,hardness,resistance to hydrogen-induced cracking(HIC),sulfide stress corrosion cracking(SSCC),and hydrogen environmental compatibility test,with comparative analyses performed against conventional L360M steel pipes.The results show that the chemical composition,microstructure,and mechanical properties of the developted steel pipes comply with the standard of GB/T 9711-2023.No cracks were observed during HIC and SSCC testing,demonstrating excellent resistance to hydrogen sulfide corrosion.In the hydrogen environments,the performance degradation rate of both base metal and the welds remained within 10%,and no significant susceptibility to hydrogen embrittlement was detected.The developed L360MH steel pipe exhibits superior mechanical performance and hydrogen compatibility while offering technical support for long-distance hydrogen pipeline infrastructure.
