Research progress on biomarkers of podocyte injury in diabetic kidney disease
摘要
Abstract
Diabetic kidney disease,as a common microvascular complication of diabetes, has become the leading cause of end-stage renal disease worldwide. Its pathological process is closely related to the damage to a key component of the glomerular filtration barrier—the podocytes.Early podocyte dysfunction is a critical driving factor for proteinuria and renal function deterioration.Recent studies have shown that the molecular mechanisms contributing to podocyte injury in a high-glucose environment are complex and multifaceted. These mechanisms encompass various pathological factors, such as metabolic imbalances, abnormal regulation of signaling pathways, and alterations in epigenetic regulation. With this understanding, systematic research based on multi-omics technologies has successfully identified various biomarkers, such as metabolic products and novel molecules beyond traditional structural proteins, whose dynamic change can reflect podocyte injury earlier and more accurately. This article systematically reviews the mechanisms of action and clinical translational potential of these biomarkers, which facilitates the development of targeted strategies to protect podocytes. It also discusses a new paradigm of personalized diagnosis and treatment through biomarker stratification.关键词
