Study on the Homogenization Process,Microstructure,and Properties of L12 Nanoparticle-strengthened CoNiCr-based High-entropy Alloys

Abstract
The L12-nanoparticle-strengthened CoNiCr-based high-entropy alloy,due to its microstructure similarity to nickel-based superalloys and the excellent strength-toughness characteristics of high-entropy alloys,exhibits broad application potential in fields such as aero-engines and gas turbines.(Co2Ni2Cr)85Al7.5Ti7.5high entropy alloy was prepared by vacuum arc melting,and then was homogenized and aged.Subsequently,the microstructure,peak aging and mechanical property of the alloy were investigated.The result shows that the as-cast dendrites can be eliminated after the homogenization treatment at 1165 ℃/24 h.The microstructure of homogenized alloy is composed of equiaxed grains in which the high-density nanoparticles(about 70 nm)are uniformly distributed.Meanwhile,the alloy consists of FCC(CoNiCr)matrix phase and L12 nanoparticle phase,and the L12 nanoparticle is identified as(Ni,Co,Cr)3(Al,Ti)multicomponent phase.The peak aging time is approximately 5 h,and the highest hardness value is achieved at 700℃.After aging,the high-density L12 nanoparticles are uniformly distributed in the grain interior,and a certain degree of coarsening has occurred.The yield strength of aged alloy is higher than that of homogenized alloy,and the aged alloy has the highest yield strength at 700 ℃,which is attributed to the precipitation strengthening.Moreover,its main deformation characteristic is the formation of mechanical twinning.This study designs a novel high-entropy alloy with a microstructure similar to Ni-based superalloys,laying a solid foundation for the development of new high-temperature high-entropy alloys in the future.关键词
