Abstract

Storage is an indispensable key link in sweet potato production.To explore indicators for evaluating the storage tol-erance of varieties in production and to select new sweet potato varieties suitable for storage in the central-southern Henan,ten superior cultivars from this area were used as research subjects.Measurements were taken before and after storage,in-cluding weight loss rate,changes in individual tuber weight,dry matter consumption rate,moisture consumption rate,changes in marketable tuber rate,and changes in dry matter rate,to study storage tolerance.The results showed that weight loss rate was significantly negatively correlated with marketable tuber rate,making it an intuitive and rapid indicator for as-sessing the storage tolerance of sweet potato varieties.The storage tolerance of dual-purpose and purple-fleshed sweet potato varieties was higher than that of edible varieties.The primary factor influencing changes in dry matter rate during the entire storage period was inter-varietal differences,accounting for 88.49%of the variation.Luoshu No.11,Luoshu No.15,and Luoshu No.16 were identified as processing type sweet potato varieties suitable for storage in the central-southern Henan,while Yanshu No.25,Shangshu No.19,Luozishu No.4,and Luozishu No.5 were found to be edible and purple-fleshed sweet potato varieties suitable for storage in this area.
