Abstract

The variation in relative positions between two wind turbines leads to varying degrees of wake effects on the downstream turbine.A three-dimensional elliptic polynomial wake model(3DEP)was employed to calculate the inflow wind speed distribution of the downstream turbine at different relative positions,and based on the OpenFAST software,the effects of various streamwise and lateral distances on blade equivalent fatigue loads,rotor thrust,and blade root flapwise loads were quantitatively analyzed.The results show that at a streamwise distance of 4D,as the lateral distance increases from 0 to 1.5R,the blade equivalent fatigue loads and rotor thrust increase by 41.5%and 30.2%,respectively,with peak values observed at the wake boundary.At a streamwise distance of 10D,the influence of lateral distance significantly decreases,with the increments in blade equivalent fatigue loads and rotor thrust reduced to only 3.5%and 2.1%.At the position of 1.5R,both rotor thrust and blade vibration loads reach their peak,indicating that the wake effect imposes the most significant periodic impact on the blades.This research provides theoretical support for wind farm layout optimization and wake control strategies.
