Abstract

Some rooms of a scientific research building in a severe cold region have been renovated into of-fices.To assess the indoor air environmental quality of the renovated building,on-site investigations were con-ducted on the indoor thermal environment and indoor air quality of the building,and subjective question-naires were distributed.The results show that during the heating period,the proportion of time with indoor temperature exceeding 24 ℃ is 78%,and 38.2%of the respondents reports thermal discomfort.In summer,the proportion of time with indoor temperature exceeding 28 ℃ is 75%,where the excessively high temperature fails to meet the comfort requirements.The mass con-centration of total volatile organic compounds(TVOC)in each office in winter ranges from 0.62 to 0.7 mg/m3,all exceeding the standard.The volume fraction of CO2 in some offices exceeds the standard limit.After the doors and windows of the offices are closed for 12 hours in winter,the formaldehyde mass concentration in the offices with new desks and chairs reaches 0.1 mg/m3,and it decreases significantly after 2 hours of window ventilation.It is suggested to strengthen natural ventilation to improve indoor air quality and to lower the heating temperature to 20 ℃ in winter to reduce en-ergy consumption.In summer,night ventilation should be rationally utilized to dilute indoor air pollutants and meet the physiological and hygienic needs of the hu-man body.
