Abstract

In foundation pit dewatering projects,the waterstop curtain serves as a crucial barrier mechanism,with its insertion depth significantly influencing the spatial distribution characteristics of the seepage field and the development patterns of settlement.However,existing research exhibits notable limitations.The majority of scholarly works employ sim-plified two-dimensional models for simulation,which fail to accurately capture the asym-metric distribution characteristics of the seepage field and the spatial heterogeneity of set-tlement deformation in three-dimensional space.This study establishes a three-dimensional fluid-solid coupling model utilizing the Abaqus finite element platform,incorporates the modified Cambridge model to characterize the elastoplastic behavior of soil,and integrates the Forchheimer equation to simulate the nonlinear seepage process,thereby developing a comprehensive numerical simulation system that accounts for non-Darcy seepage and soil compression characteristics.Through comparative analysis of five groups of curtain insertion depths(ranging from 0.6 to 1.0 meters),the nonlinear correlation between seepage field distribution characteristics and settlement response is elucidated,with the re-sults being compared against previous indoor similarity simulation outcomes.The findings demonstrate that when the curtain insertion depth is less than 1.2 times the excavation depth,the seepage field exhibits pronounced asymmetry,with the pore water pressure gra-dient peaking at 0.25 at the curtain base and the seepage flow rate reaching 1.2×10-3 m3/s.As the insertion depth increases to 1.6 times the excavation depth,the seepage flow rate decreases by 62.5%,and the hydraulic gradient reduces to 0.12.Surface settlement dis-plays a nonlinear decrease with increasing insertion depth.When the insertion depth in-creases from 1 to 1.2 times,the settlement amount decreases by 55%-60%,and the set-tlement trough morphology transitions from a"V"shape to a"U"shape.
