摘要

Abstract

It is of great importance to improve the accuracy of the suspended sediment concentration(SSC)estimated by the sediment transport model in open channels.Is this study,the Particle Filter(PF)is em-ployed to combine a one-dimensional sediment transport model with observations to develop a data assimilation system to improve the estimation of the SSC.When the observed SSC becomes available,the model state vari-able SSC will be updated and the three model parameters,saturation recovery coefficient α,the coefficient k and exponent m in the sediment carrying capacity formula,will be corrected according to the PF theory.The developed SSC data assimilation system is applied to the event of water and sediment regulation in the reach from Xiaolangdi to Jiahetan of the Lower Yellow River to evaluate its performance.The results show that the accuracy of SSC simulated by the sediment transport model is improved significantly after the PF assimilation with updating model states and correcting parameters simultaneously.
