Nonlinear error correction in structured-light 3D shape measurement

Abstract
Fringe Projection Profilometry is a high-precision,non-contact 3D shape measurement technique.However,the nonlinear response of the projector often distorts the projected fringe patterns,introducing phase errors that degrade the accuracy of 3D reconstruction.To address this challenge,this study proposes an efficient nonlinear error correction method based on pre-projection.The approach involves a pre-measurement step where the true phase is extracted on a reference plane,followed by the estimation of error model coeffi-cients using the least squares method.These coefficients are then applied to correct phase errors during the ac-tual measurement of the object.To validate the effectiveness of the proposed method,both simulations and experiments are conducted.Results demonstrate that the proposed method effectively suppresses phase errors induced by projector nonlinearity and improves 3D reconstruction accuracy.Compared with traditional ap-proaches,the proposed method achieves higher efficiency without requiring additional projections,making it suitable for dynamic and in-line measurement scenarios.关键词
