Advances on the ecology of marine holoplanktonic molluscs

Abstract
Marine holoplanktonic molluscs are a type of gastropod zooplankton by living a floating lifestyle in the marine ecosystem.They are distributed mainly in the upper layers of tropical and subtropical oceans.Due to their adaptation to planktonic life and special feeding methods,they play an important role in marine biogeochemical cycles,and thus have important research values in indicating changes in the marine environment.This paper summarizes the functional role of holoplanktonic molluscs in marine ecosystems,describes the ecological disasters induced by holoplanktonic molluscs in the world's oceans as well as their occurrence mechanisms,and focuses on the physiological and ecological responses of holoplanktonic molluscs to the changing marine environments.The research on the ecology of holoplanktonic molluscs started late and was relatively simple in China.In the future,it is necessary to focus on the population and community ecology of this group and their responses to ocean acidification and ocean warming as well as the related mechanisms,so that the ecological functions of holoplanktonic molluscs in marine ecosystems can be deeply understood.关键词
