Influence of Braking-Induced Vehicle Pitch on Pedestrian Lower Limb Injury Risk
摘要
Abstract
The pedestrian lower limb is a primary site of injury in traffic accidents;however, the influence of vehicle body pitch induced by active braking on its impact response remains unclear. This study employed a high-biofidelity finite element model of the lower limb to simulate collisions between three vehicle types(sedan,SUV,and MPV)and pedestrian lower limbs under various braking pitch angles. The results demonstrate that for the sedan and the MPV,an increase in the braking pitch angle significantly reduces the injury risk to the femur, knee ligaments, and tibia. In contrast, for the SUV,while the injury risks to the femur and ligaments show no significant change, the risk of tibial injury is markedly reduced. This research provides a new perspective for studies on integrated active-passive pedestrian protection.关键词
