"Exploring the Impact of Coronary Heart Disease on Cognitive Dysfunction Based on the Theory of Heart-Brain Co-Governance in Mental Functions"
摘要
Abstract
Coronary heart disease(cardiovascular diseases,CHD)and cognitive dysfunction,while distinct in clinical mani-festations,are highly correlated in their pathological basis.Based on the theory of"Heart and Brain Co-governing Mental Activi-ties"in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),this paper explores their physiological connections and pathological mechanisms from both TCM and modern medical perspectives.TCM posits that the heart and brain share a common origin and coordinated functioning,where the activities of the mind exhibit distinctions between"substance"and"function"-the physiological foun-dation resides in the brain,while the functional manifestations depend on the heart.Modern medical research has revealed that CHD and cognitive dysfunction can interact through circulatory,neural,and endocrine systems.With advancements in magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)technology,significant structural and functional changes have been identified in the brains of CHD pa-tients,which subsequently impair cognitive functions.This underscores the importance of in-depth investigation into heart-brain interactions and the integration of modern medical technologies,aiming to provide theoretical foundations and guidance for clinical practice.关键词
