"畜鱼置介"法在咳嗽变异性哮喘中的运用
Application of"Xuyu Zhijie"(Fish Cultivation with Shellfish Placement)Method in Cough Variant Asthma

Abstract
Cough variant asthma(CVA)is a latent type of asthma mainly characterized by chronic cough.The cough is spasmodic and paroxysmal,accompanied by itchy pharynx,which conforms to the pathogenic characteristics of"wind pathogen"in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),and can be classified into the categories of wind cough,asthma cough,and convulsive cough in TCM theory.CVA is protracted and refractory,with recurrent attacks and a prolonged disease course,which tends to consume genuine yin,making it a syndrome of deficiency in root cause and excess in symptom-liver-kidney yin deficiency as the root cause and manifested as floating yang hyperactivity.The underlying cause of yang hyperactivity lies in water(yin)depletion:kidney yin fails to nourish liver wood,leading to endogenous deficient wind and manifestations of stirring wind due to yin deficiency.The reversed flow of liver wind invades the lung,impairing the lung's functions of dispersing and descending,thereby inducing cough.The"Xuyu Zhi-jie"(fish cultivation with shellfish placement)method aims to harmonize the body's yin and yang,nourish genuine yin in the lower energizer,and subdue the hyperactive floating yang in the upper body.This paper mainly discusses the etiology and pathogenesis of CVA from the perspectives of"wind"and"deficiency",takes nourishing genuine yin and subduing floating yang as the therapeutic principles,and applies shell-based Chinese medicinals to nourish yin and subdue yang,resolve phlegm and extinguish wind,and harmonize yin and yang,so as to extinguish wind,relieve cough,resolve phlegm and cure the disease.关键词
