Abstract
Diarrhea is one of the most common and pervasive diseases in the livestock and poultry industry,posing serious threats to animal husbandry industry and animal production efficiency.Since the implementa-tion of the comprehensive ban on antibiotic use in feed,intestinal health problems,particularly diarrhea in young animals,have become increasingly prominent.This has created an urgent need for novel,eco-friendly,efficient,and safe feed additives to alleviate diarrhea and maintain gut health.Probiotics,featuring non-toxicity,lack of drug resistance,and absence of harmful residues,can modulate intestinal microecologi-cal balance,promote growth and development,and enhance immune function.As a result,they have emerged as ideal alternatives to antibiotics and are now widely applied in livestock production.This review summarizes the major mechanisms through which probiotics mitigate diarrhea and highlights recent advances in probiotic-based prevention and treat-ment strategies,with the aim of providing a scientific foundation for the development of a new generation of green and functional feed additives.关键词
