The Influencing Factors on Electrical Resistivity of Coastal Silt Considering Regional Characteristics

Abstract
The electrical resistivity of soil is a key parameter for measuring the conductive capacity and is also serves as an important indicator reflecting its physical properties.To enhance the resource utilization of coastal silt,this study analyzed silt samples from 12 sites from 7 regions including Liaon-ing,Jiangsu,and Guangdong.The resistivity characteristics of coastal silt were investigated in terms of moisture content,ion concentration,organic matter content.The results show that when the mois-ture content of the silt exceeds 50%,the resistivity remains essentially unchanged.Under a moisture content of 50%,the resistivity of the silt exhibits a negative correlation with ion concentration.Addi-tionally,for silt with the same ion concentration,the presence of organic matter can reduce the resis-tivity.This paper proposes a preliminary corrosion assessment method based on the characteristics of coastal silt,utilizing resistivity as an initial indicator of corrosivity.Experiments demonstrat that when deionized water is added to the silt to achieve a moisture content of 50%,if the measured resistivity is less than or equal to 1 Ω·m,the silt is classified as strongly corrosive;if the resistivity is greater than 1 Ω·m and less than or equal to 10 Ω·m,the silt is classified as moderately corrosive.This method provides a reference and theoretical basis for the evaluation of engineering characteristics and the processing and utilization of coastal silt.关键词
