Effect of Three-Channel Side Inlet/Outlet Dividing Piers Arrangement on Hydraulic Characteristics

Abstract
To analyze the impact of arrangement of dividing piers on the hydraulic characteristics of side inlet/outlet in pumped storage power station,this paper takes the three-channel side inlet/outlet of the upper reservoir of a pumped storage power station as the research object.A three-dimensional hydrodynamic model is established to carry out numerical simulation by adjusting the transverse and longitudinal positions of the piers and the outer arc radius of the pier head,and researches the degree of flow non-uniformity of the three-channel side inlet/outlet,the coefficient of flow non-uniformity and the head loss coefficient change rule.The results indicate that the relative transverse position,relative longitudinal position,and the ratio of inner-to-outer arc radii of the pier head significantly influence the flow rate unevenness,velocity non-uniformity coefficient,and head loss coefficient of the three-channel side inlet/outlet,albeit to varying degrees.The optimal arrangement of dividing piers for overall hydraulic performance is found to be a relative transverse position of 0.340,a relative longitudinal position of-0.04,and an inner-to-outer arc radius ratio of 0.1 at the pier head.关键词
