Abstract

The infinite slope mapping(SINMAP)model is more random in evaluating the contribution of each predisposing factor to landslides under the effect of rainfall,while the fractal theory approach can supplement the single-scale analysis limitation of the SINMAP model to investigate the contribution of each predisposing factor to landslide development by optimizing the input parameters.In this paper,Linxian County in Shanxi Province was taken as the study region.The fractal theory was used to explore the influence of each landslide predisposing factor on the development pattern of landslides in Linxian County.Then,based on the SINMAP model,the stability of surface slopes in the study area was evaluated under different rainfall intensity levels.The results show that there is a second-order cumulative dimensional fractal between relation of the two factors(i.e.,slope gradient and slope direction)and the landslide hazard,while there is a third-order cumulative dimensional fractal between the elevation factor and the landslide hazard,which has the highest correlation with the development of landslides.With the increase of the rainfall intensity,the area of unstable area in the study area grows from 35.51%to 49.71%,and the stable area is gradually transformed to the unstable area,which shows a gradual deterioration of distribution state from the center to the surroundings,and a gradual deterioration of distribution state from the center to the surroundings.The distribution state of gradual deterioration,and the density of landslides is always kept at the maximum in the extremely unstable area and the minimum in the extremely stable area.This study can provide a reference for loess landslide disaster mitigation and prevention in Linxian County.
