Abstract
The"Six Great Chinese Historical Classics"refer to the first four of the twenty-four standard Chinese historical genre centered on biographies:Historical Records,The Book of Han,The Book of Late Han,and The Records of Three Kingdoms,as well as two chronicle-style historical works:The Zuo Commentaryand Comprehensive Mirror for Aid in Government.China has a rich tradition of historical literature,with over 20,000 historical works documented in the"Historical Section"of The Siku Quanshu.With the exception of the"Six Great Chinese Historical Classics",all other historical works are mere recordings of historical events—essentially,textual and documentary studies.In contrast,these six masterpieces not only chronicle historical processes but also embed the authors'historical thinking,explaining why history unfolded as it did.They present the authors'unique perspectives,thus constituting true historiography.Interpreting the"Six Great Chinese Historical Classics"in contemporary language,employing innovative approaches to classical text compilation,and publishing them in diverse formats to popularize these canonical works among the general public—this initiative may be aptly termed"A New Paradigm of Classical Text Compilation for Six Great Chinese Historical Classics.".关键词
