Abstract
A profound understanding and comprehensive grasp of"integration"as a basic principle and methodology of adapting Marxism to China's Context in the New Era requires several prerequi-sites.These include an in-depth analysis of the semantics of the key term"integration",an exami-nation of its specific applications in both Chinese and foreign academic contexts as well as in Marxist classic works,and a full comprehension of the basic principles of Marxism.Additionally,it is nec-essary to revisit Mao Zedong's expositions on"integration",sort out the successes and failures of debates related to"integration"since modern times,and clarify the relationships between relevant categories such as culture and civilization.Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Charac-teristics for the New Era represents the development and innovation of the scientific theory of inte-gration in Marxism.Its prominent manifestations are as follows.First,it has creatively advanced"integration"as a basic principle and methodology of Marxism.Second,it has profoundly expoun-ded the potency of"integration"in the advancement of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era.Third,it has provided a valuable tool for screening traditional culture by taking the people-centered orientation of Marxism as the yardstick.Fourth,it integrates new historical charac-teristics and New Era features,respects the diversity of human civilizations,and puts forward the assertion that no civilization is inherently superior or inferior to others.Fifth,it advocates and ad-heres to integrating Marxism with the new characteristics of the times in the New Era,thus open-ing up a new realm for the theory of integration in adapting Marxism to China's Context.It is an important responsibility of China's philosophical and social science community to provide solid aca-demic support for the research of the innovative proposition of integrating the basic/underlying te-nets of Marxism with China's realities and the best of its traditional culture.Researchers in the field of social sciences should adhere to the high standard of"integrating China and the world and connecting the past and the present",uphold a rigorous academic style,improve their overall capa-bilities,and make genuine efforts to face up to,identify and resolve real problems.关键词
