Introduction to XIONG Dajing's Experience in Treating Pediatric Sleep Apnea Caused by Adenoid Hypertrophy from the Perspective of Diseases Induced by Pathogenic Wind

Abstract
This article introduces Professor XIONG Dajing's clinical experience in treating pediatric sleep apnea caused by adenoid hypertrophy from the perspective of wind pathology.Children often exhibit the physiological characteristics of"frequent liver excess and spleen deficiency,"and clinical cases are mostly accompanied by nasal symptoms and a history of recurrent exposure to pathogenic wind.Professor XIONG believes that the etiology of sleep apnea caused by adenoid hypertrophy includes external wind pathogen,internal latent liver wind,and inherited wind pathogen.The adenoids are congenital,and wind,being a yang pathogen,tends to attack the upper parts of the body.Additionally,spleen deficiency leads to impaired transportation and transformation,resulting in qi deficiency,which weakens the body's defense against external wind.Furthermore,the frequent liver excess causes liver wood to overact and restrict spleen earth,giving rise to internal generation of liver wind.External wind then stirs the internal wind,trapping it within the nasopharynx,which over time leads to adenoid hypertrophy.The treatment should focus on dispelling wind,and it is proposed that managing snoring requires treating the nose,treating the nose requires dispelling wind,and once wind is eliminated,sleep naturally becomes peaceful.关键词
