Introduction to FENG Fuhai's Characteristic Herb Pairs in Treating Rheumatoid Arthritis Using the Method of Supporting Healthy Qi to Eliminate Pathogens

Abstract
This article introduces Professor FENG Fuhai's characteristic herb pairs in treating rheumatoid arthritis(RA)using the method of supporting healthy qi to eliminate pathogens.Professor FENG believes that the core pathogenesis of RA is deficiency of healthy qi and invasion of external pathogens.The treatment should focus on supporting healthy qi to eliminate pathogens,and he is skilled in using specific herb pairs in formulations.The pairs include:Astragali Radix-Coicis Semen to replenish qi and drain dampness,strengthen the spleen and clear impediment;Homalomenae Rhizoma-Schizophragmatis Radix to tonify the liver and kidney,strengthen tendons and bones,and unblock collaterals and eliminate impediment;Angelicae Sinensis Radix-Carthami Flos to supplement and nourish blood,activate blood and unblock migratory impediment;Acanthopanacis Cortex-Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix to induce diuresis for remove edema,strengthen tendons and alleviate impediment;Dioscoreae Nipponicae Rhizoma-Euonymi Ramulus to activate blood and resolve stasis,unblock the meridian and activate the collateral.The diagnosis and treatment emphasize the integration of disease differentiation and syndrome differentiation,and the compatibility of herb pairs focuses on balancing healthy qi and pathogens,as well as addressing both deficiency and excess.关键词
