Research progress on the protective effect of lutein on age-related macular degeneration
摘要
Abstract
Lutein is a kind of fat-soluble carotenoid which mainly exists in dark green vegetables,fruits and other substances.It is enriched in the macular area of the retina and is one of the main components of macular pigment.Many epidemiological and clinical trials have shown that lutein in serum has a protective effect on Age-related macular degeneration(AMD).In order to clarify its protective effect and clinical application value,this article comprehensively describes the pathogenesis of AMD and the protective effect of lutein according to the latest research progress.关键词
