Symbol Production in User-Participatory Urban Image Communication:A Textual Analysis of Xuzhou City

Abstract
Users are key nodes in the urban communication network."Participatory culture"has reshaped the pattern of information dissemination,with"symbolic communication"becoming the main trend in urban image communication.This study uses Xuzhou as a case study to analyze the textual interpretation and symbolic expression in user-generated content on media platforms.It constructs a cognitive framework for urban images based on cultural,folk,digital and emotional symbols.The study highlights current issues in Xuzhou's urban image communication regarding user-participatory symbol production,proposing methods such as enhancing group participation,leveraging technological affordances,relying on multimodal media,and guiding standardized participation.Adopting a dual perspective of users and symbols,as well as media and the city,this study analyses the relationship between communication symbols and communication effects.This provides ideas and references for future communication and development of the city.关键词
