Effect of Transanal Total Mesorectal Excision Combined with Butyrate Enema on Promoting Postopera-tive Intestinal Function Recovery in Patients with Rectal Cancer

Abstract
Objective To observe the effect of transanal total mesorectal excision combined with butyrate enema on promoting postoperative intestinal function recovery in patients with rectal cancer.Methods A total of 100 patients with rectal cancer admitted to our hospital from July 2022 to February 2025 were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group,with 50 cases in each group.Patients in the control group were given laparoscopic total mesorectal excision and routine symptomatic treatment after surgery,while patients in the observation group were given transanal total mesorectal excision,routine symptomatic treatment after surgery and butyrate enema treatment.The intestinal function,abdominal pain and distension,and levels of gastrointestinal hormones of the two groups of patients were compared.Results The time of first exhaust and first defecation after surgery in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05).The scores of abdominal pain and distension in the observation group were lower than those in the con‐trol group on the 3rd and 7th days after surgery(P<0.05).The levels of motilin(MOT)and gastrin(GAS)in the observation group were higher than those in the control group after surgery(P<0.05).Conclusion Transanal total mesorectal excision combined with butyrate enema in the treatment of rectal cancer can relieve the symptoms of abdominal pain and distension,improve the levels of gastrointestinal hormones,and promote the recovery of intestinal function.关键词
