Abstract

This study aims to develop and validate a labor literacy assessment model for undergraduates in local agricultural universities.Grounded in an integrated theoretical framework combining Marxist labor theory,embodied cognition,and the ASK(Attitude-Skill-Knowledge)model,the study proposes a four-dimensional structure of labor literacy,comprising labor interest,labor character,labor skills,and labor interpersonal engagement.A corresponding assessment instrument was designed and empirically tested with a sample from a local agricultural university.Results demonstrated that the instrument possesses strong reliability and validity.Entropy weight analysis identified labor skills and labor interpersonal engagement as the most critical dimensions.While the overall level of student labor literacy was moderately high,a significant structural imbalance was noted,characterized by a relative weakness in practical labor skills.Furthermore,significant disparities in labor literacy were observed across different academic years,majors,and student geographic origins.The findings offer an empirical basis and practical insights for the systematic enhancement of labor education within agricultural higher education institutions.
