Comprehensive Evaluation of Functional Components in Southern China Vine Tea

Abstract
To comprehensively evaluate the quality of vine tea in southern China,18 tea samples were collected from seven provinces.A comparison of their appearances was conducted,and 13 quality indicators were detected using chemical methods and high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC).Statistical analyses including correlation analysis,cluster analysis,principal component analysis,and orthogonal partial least squares-discriminant analysis,were used to comprehensively evaluate the samples.Furthermore,key factors that affect the quality of vine tea were identified and screened.The results showed that vine tea made of tender shoots had tighter texture and more"white frost"on the surface,appearing white overall;while the vine tea made of mature leaves had looser tea strips and less"white frost",appearing tan overall.Significant differences and correlations were found in the 13 quality indicators among different vine tea samples,and the quality index was affected by origin,picking season and raw material type.The score of the tea of tender shoot was generally higher than that of the mature.Principal component analysis extracted four principal components,accounting for 85.128%of the total variance.Cluster analysis and principal component analysis yielded consistent results,categorizing the 18 samples into two major groups:cluster Ⅰ mainly comprised tender shoot of vine tea except for M18,while cluster Ⅱ consisted entirely of mature leaf of the tea.Orthogonal partial least squares-discriminant analysis preliminarily identified DPPH clearance rate,ABTS clearance rate,dihydromyricetin content and total flavonoids content as the four key indicators affecting the quality of vine tea.The results of this study provide a reference for the screening of high-quality vine tea and the establishment of evaluation criteria for vine tea quality.关键词
