甲状腺结节大小对超声引导下细针穿刺活检标本满意度的影响
Effect of thyroid nodule size on ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration biopsy specimen satisfaction

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effect of thyroid nodules size on the satisfaction of specimens in ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration(US-FNA)biopsy.Methods:A total of 293 patients with 293 thyroid nodules who underwent US-FNA biopsy were retrospectively collected.According to the maximum diameter showed on grayscale ultrasound,all nodules were divided into group A(35 nodules,less than 5 mm),group B(118 nodules,5-10 mm),and group C(140 nodules,more than 10 mm).According to the pathological Bethesda system,the satisfaction of the needle biopsy specimen was defined as categoryⅠ(unsatisfactory specimens),and category Ⅱ—Ⅵ(satisfactory specimens).The differences in specimen satisfaction among the three groups were compared,and the factors affecting the satisfaction of thyroid nodule specimens were analyzed.Results:The specimens satisfaction in groups A,B,and C were 91.4％(32/35),92.4％(109/118),and 92.9％(130/140),respectively.There was no statistically significant difference among the three groups(P>0.05),and pairwise comparisons among the three groups showed no statistically significant differences either(all P>0.05).Conclusions:The size of thyroid nodules has no significant effect on the specimens satisfaction of US-FNA biopsy.Satisfactory specimens can still be obtained by US-FNA biopsy of small thyroid nodules(the maximum diameter less than 5 mm)with clinical diagnosis and treatment needs,which were previously considered to have a low success rate of puncture.关键词
