Abstract
Objective To observe the application effect of the modified epicanthoplasty combined with horizontal double eyelid surgery in patients with moderate to severe epicanthic fold.Methods Twenty-three patients with moderate to severe epicanthic fold who underwent modified"Z"plasty combined with horizontal double eyelid surgery at Zhoukou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from January 2023 to June 2025 were selected as the study subjects.During the postoperative follow-up period,the application effect of patients with moderate to severe epicanthic fold was evaluated from multiple aspects,including ocular appearance improvement,scar condition,and patient satisfaction.Results After surgery,the patients' palpebral fissures were significantly lengthened and widened,the inner canthus morphology was natural,and the epicanthic fold was moderately exposed,achieving good ocular appearance improvement.In terms of scarring,most patients had mild scarring at the incision site in the early postoperative period.Results As time progressed,the scarring gradually faded.According to the Vancouver Scar Scale(VSS)score,the average score at 6 months postoperatively was(3.0±0.5),which was at a low level.The patient satisfaction survey results showed that 15 patients(65.2％)were very satisfied,6 patients(26.1％)were relatively satisfied,and the overall satisfaction rate reached 100％.Conclusions This group of cases observed that this combined procedure can effectively improve the ocular appearance of patients with moderate to severe epicanthic fold,with good scar control and high patient satisfaction.关键词
