Abstract

In order to improve the response of SnO2 based gas sensor in H2 S gas detection and reduce its operating temperature,the H2 S gas sensor based on CuO-SnO2 nanoflower composite is successfully prepared by using hydrothermal method and impregnation precipita-tion method.The sensitive materials are characterized by SEM,TEM,XRD,and XPS,and the gas sensitivity for H2 S at different concen-trations is tested.The experimental results show that the incorporation of nano CuO particles greatly improves the response of the sensor and reduces the operating temperature.Among all the samples,the response improvement of the 10 mol%CuO-SnO2(10CS)sensor is the highest,with a response of 23 286.2 for 50×10-6 H2 S,which is 366 times higher than that of pure SnO2 sensors.Its optimal operat-ing temperature is significantly reduced compared to pure SnO2sensing.In addition,the 10CS sensor also exhibits excellent repeatabili-ty,stability,and selectivity,with good practical application potential.
