Research and application of lithium-compensated gel-type lithium iron phosphate energy storage battery technology

Abstract
With the deepening of the"Dual-Carbon"Strategy,lithium iron phosphate batteries have become a mainstream new energy storage technology due to their high safety and long cycle life,and their installed capacity is rapidly increasing.However,traditional liquid lithium iron phosphate storage batteries face issues such as electrolyte stratification,intensified interfacial side reactions,and thermal runaway risks under long-term idle conditions,which will limit their further promotion and application in grid storage systems.Based on the novel Li4SiO4@S composite material developed by our team at the Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory,this study proposes a lithium-compensated gel-type LFP battery technology.By incorporating Li4SiO4@S into the LFP cathode electrode,this material functions both as a sustained-release lithium reservoir and an electrolyte gelation initiator,significantly enhancing the battery's cycle life and intrinsic safety.Experimental results demonstrate that the pouch-type lithium-compensated gel-type battery with 1%Li4SiO4@S additive in the LFP cathode exhibits optimal electrochemical performance:it achieves a capacity retention of 89.0%after 1000 cycles at 1 C rate and 45℃,and 100%capacity recovery after 7 days of storage at 55℃.Furthermore,the battery enables high-rate discharge at 4 C with 96.2%capacity retention.Leveraging this technology,Dongguan Jiali Materials Technology Co.,Ltd.has developed the Model 71173 320 Ah gel-type LiFePO4 energy storage battery cell.This battery delivers significantly enhanced cycle life and safety performance compared with traditional liquid LiFePO4 batteries,providing an effective technical pathway to ensure the long-term and stable operation of energy storage power stations.关键词
