Abstract

To enhance the efflorescence-resistant properties of greenway bridge deck pavements,this study employed modifications of Portland cement concrete using metakaolin,siloxane powder,and sulphate alumi-nate cement.The efflorescence area was segmented using the maximum inter-class variance method.The ef-fects of these three modification approaches on concrete impermeability and mechanical properties were investi-gated.Additionally,the efflorescence suppression mechanisms were analyzed through thermogravimetric analysis,X-ray diffraction,and computed tomography technology.Finally,a gray relation model was used to comprehensively evaluate the baseline condition and three modification methods.The results indicate that all three modification methods can inhibit efflorescence with different suppression mechanisms.The content of the key product,Ca(OH)2,decreased in all cases,which optimized the pore structure.There was a linear rela-tionship between the ratio of total paths to pore count and porosity within the concrete matrix,while the ratio of the number of cross-linked pores to pore count and porosity exhibited a quadratic relationship.The metaka-olin modification not only maintained excellent strength but also demonstrated superior impermeability,and its overall efflorescence-resistant performance was the best among the three modification methods.
