Exploring the Mechanism of Angelica Sinensis and Paeonia Lactiflora in Synopsis of the Golden Chamber from the Perspective of Imagery Thinking Method

Abstract
Reinterpreting the compatibility application of the couplet herb Angelica sinesis(Danggui)and Paeonia lactiflora(Shaoyao)in Synopsis of the Golden Chamber from the perspective of imagery thinking method,it can be seen that Angelica and Paeonia are not on-ly commonly used herb pairs for treating gynecological diseases,nor merely possess the effect of nourishing blood.Beyond nourishing blood,they supplement without causing stagnation,assisting in restoring the normal ascending-descending of qi movement.They coordi-nate movement and stillness,integrate ascending and descending,and balance supplementation with elimination.This herb pair is appli-cable not only for treating blood deficiency patterns but also for resolving stagnation and obstruction,combining dredging with elimina-tion.Re-examining the medicinal properties of Angelica and Paeonia through imagery thinking method reveals more than just Angelica nourishing blood and Paeonia soothing the liver.From the imagery of their growth,flavor,and property:Angelica can both supplement and dredge-despite its pungent aroma,it is accompanied by oiliness,thus promoting qi circulation and blood activation while nouris-hing blood,with a medicinal property that ascends without excessive dryness;Paeonia is sour,astringent,and yin-nourishing-though slightly cold in property,its softness can dredge meridians and relieve pain,and while its qi tends to descend and inward,it also soothes liver qi to promote its ascending,thereby assisting the liver in free flow to facilitate qi-blood communication and resolve stasis.The me-dicinal properties and compatibility of Angelica and Paeonia are not limited to the efficacy of a single herb but coordinate qi and blood,interdependently ascending and descending like an endless cycle,circulating continuously.关键词
