Differences in Layout Design Between Domestic and Overseas Underground Hydropower Powerhouses

Abstract
The geological structure of a certain overseas hydropower station area consists of an interlayer compression fracture zone located in a strong earthquake zone(seismic intensity Ⅷ).The layout features numerous and densely arranged caverns,leading to problems such as instability of rock pillars between caverns and large excavation deformations.Considering the differences in design concepts and methods for hydropower plant buildings between domestic and overseas,the analyses were conducted focusing on cavern stability,hydraulic transition calculations,tailrace tunnel maintenance methods,and safety passages in the plant area.A revised layout plan for the plant area buildings was determined.The research results aim to provide design experience and perspectives for personnel working on overseas hydropower projects.关键词
