Abstract
A method to evaluate the selective cleansing ability of a dual-chamber facial cleanser on human sebum was established.In vitro testing was performed using leather as a skin model to quantify the removal rate of squalene hydroperoxide and the retention rate of cholesterol for four facial cleanser products.A non-invasive assessment was conducted with 30 subjects with oily skin,measuring squalene hydroperoxide levels before and after cleansing,as well as changes in skin sebum content and transepidermal water loss(TEWL)before,after,and seven days following product use.The four cleansers showed differences in squalene hydroperoxide removal and cholesterol retention,and their selective cleansing ability was quantified using a selective cleansing coefficient.In human tests,the cleanser demonstrated a squalene hydroperoxide removal rate of 97.2%and a change in sebum secretion of-93.26%immediately after cleansing;TEWL changed by-11.77%.After seven days of use,sebum secretion changed by-28.83%,and TEWL changed by-29.77%.These results indicate that the dual-chamber cleanser,which demonstrated selective cleansing on the leather model,achieves selective cleansing in humans while balancing sebum secretion and enhancing the skin barrier.关键词
