Abstract
The safety of Anoectochilus roxburghii(Wall.)Lindl.extract for use in cosmetics through local toxicity and genotoxicity tests was discussed,following the Cosmetic Safety Technical Specifications(2015 Edition).The evaluation included skin irritation,acute eye irritation,skin sensitization,bacterial reverse mutation(Ames)testing,and in vitro mammalian cell chromosome aberration assays.The results showed that the extract caused no skin irritation,no eye irritation under non-rinsing conditions in rabbits,no skin sensitization,no mutagenicity,and no chromosomal aberrations.These findings indicate that Anoectochilus roxburghii(Wall.)Lindl.extract is safe in the tested conditions.Previous studies have also reported no significant toxic effects in subchronic oral toxicity assessments.Overall,within reasonable usage limits,the extract poses no significant risk to human health and is suitable for inclusion in cosmetic formulations.关键词
