Analysis of medication patterns in Professor Ma Jun's treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease based on data mining

Abstract
Objective:To analyze the medication patterns of Professor Ma Jun in treating gastroesophageal reflux dis-ease(GERD)using data mining technology.Methods:GERD patient information from Prof.Ma Jun's outpatient clinic at The Second Affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of Chinese Medicine between May 2023 and November 2024 was col-lected through the hospital's outpatient workstation platform.Valid medical records were screened according to inclusion and exclusion criteria to establish a database.The Ancient and Modern Medical Case Cloud Platform was used to perform as-sociation rule analysis,cluster analysis and complex network analysis on syndrome characteristics,traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)prescriptions and medication frequency.Results:A total of 213 prescriptions containing 187 herbs were included,with a cumulative herb usage frequency of 3,420 times.The top five most frequently used herbs were Xuanfuhua,Fuling,Chaihu,Banxia and Haipiaoxiao.The primary herb functions were drying dampness and resolving phlegm,soothing the liver and relieving depression,regulating Qi activity and soothing the middle energizer,and inhibiting acid and reliev-ing pain.Herb properties were mostly warm and neutral,while herb flavors were predominantly bitter,pungent and sweet.The herbs primarily entered the spleen,lung,stomach and liver meridians.Association rule analysis identified 27 herb pairs,with Xuanfuhua-Fuling having the highest support.Cluster analysis yielded four groups,including four prescription combinations,while complex network analysis identified 11 core herbs.A total of 24 associations between herbs and TCM syndromes were identified,involving liver-stomach disharmony syndrome,liver-stomach stagnation heat syndrome and middle energizer deficiency with Qi rebellion syndrome.The main herbs included Xuanfuhua,Fuling,Chaihu,Banxia,Haipiaoxiao,Walengzi,Chenpi,Xiangfu,Gancao,Baizhu and Zhiqiao,totaling 25 herbs.Conclusion:Prof.Ma Jun's treatment of GERD adheres to the holistic concept of TCM,emphasizing the simultaneous regulation of zang-fu organs.His approach follows four major therapeutic principles:regulating Qi activity,clearing and dispersing stagnant heat,resolving phlegm and unblocking collaterals,and harmonizing to achieve balance.He skillfully employs classical formulas,combines cold and warm herbs,balances Yin and Yang,and demonstrates flexible herb compatibility.关键词
