脆弱纺织品加固材料筛选及其性能评价
Selection and performance evaluation of reinforcement materials for fragile textiles

Abstract
This study systematically investigates the adaptability of various consolidation materials for fragile textiles.By analyzing the reinforcement effects on cotton,hemp,silk,and wool fabrics,it aims to identify optimal material-fabric pairings,so as to provide a scientific basis to enhance the efficacy and quality of textile conservation,particularly for cultural relics. We employed an immersion treatment method.Six consolidants—glutaraldehyde,ethylene glycol diglycidyl ether,acrylic resin Paraloid B72,a hydroxyethyl cellulose compound solution,an aminosilane coupling agent,and an epoxy-modified silane coupling agent(PEI-KH560)—were selected.Commercial cotton,hemp,silk,and wool fabrics served as substrates,artificially aged to simulate excavated relic conditions.Samples were immersed in solutions of each consolidant under strictly controlled parameters,including concentration,immersion time,and drying temperature,to ensure experimental accuracy and reproducibility. The experiments demonstrated that acrylic resin Paraloid B72 exerted the most pronounced reinforcement effect on wool fabrics,increasing tensile strength by 30%while offering superior anti-aging properties,effectively decelerating the degradation rate.Treated wool fabrics also exhibited excellent performance in color stability,softness retention,and dimensional thickness.For silk fabrics,glutaraldehyde significantly enhanced mechanical properties,increasing breaking strength by approximately 42%.The hydroxyethyl cellulose compound solution improved the tensile strength of cotton fabrics by 20%and maintained stable color,hand feel,and thickness even after subsequent aging.Treatment with PEI-KH560 increased the tensile strength of hemp fabrics by 25%and effectively slowed their aging rate. This systematic study reveals that specific consolidants—Paraloid B72 for wool,glutaraldehyde for silk,hydroxyethyl cellulose for cotton,and PEI-KH560 for hemp—significantly enhance the mechanical properties of respective fabrics and effectively inhibit aging.The findings provide critical theoretical and practical reference for conservation professionals,enabling the selection of tailored reinforcement strategies based on fabric type.This work thereby contributes to improving conservation outcomes and offers valuable insights for future research in textile preservation.关键词
