Joint Detection Method for ADS-B Signals Based on Energy Accumulation and Bipolar Correlation

Abstract
As a core technology in modern aviation surveillance,automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast(ADS-B)is highly dependent on signal detection performance for its reliability.To address the issue that existing ADS-B detection algorithms demonstrate low detection rate in low signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)environments,a joint detection method integrating frequency offset correction,energy accumulation,and bipolar correlation is proposed to enable effective acquisition of navigation informa-tion in such low-SNR scenarios.First,the causes and impacts of frequency offset under practical condi-tions are analyzed,and the Modified Rife(M-Rife)algorithm is employed for frequency offset correc-tion.Then,ADS-B signals are initially detected globally through energy accumulation in noisy environ-ments.Finally,bipolar correlation is performed on the preamble header of ADS-B signals,with accu-rate positioning achieved via peak screening.Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves a detection rate exceeding 95%at an SNR of-2 dB.Compared with traditional unipolar corre-lation method(matched filtering),pulse position detection method,and baseband-normalized cross-cor-relation method,the proposed method delivers superior detection performance in low-SNR conditions.关键词
