Abstract

To address the issue of inconsistent interpass temperatures during welding of nuclear island main equipment components,the TIG welding method was used to study the influence of interpass temperature on the microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of nickel-based 690 welding wire deposited metal.Combined with mechanical property tests such as tensile and impact,as well as microstructural observations using OM,SEM and EDS,the results show that as the interpass temperature increases,the room-temperature mechanical properties of the deposited metal improve insignificantly,but both strength and plasticity at 350℃are enhanced.With increasing interpass temperature,the weld formation coefficient decreases,while the fluidity of the molten pool and weldability improve significantly,and the high-temperature heat accumulation effect intensifies,promoting molten pool flow and grain boundary migration,thereby increasing the orientation regularity of columnar grains in the overlapping zone across weld passes.When the interpass temperature exceeds 225℃,microcracks are prone to form in the microstructure.SEM and EDS analyses reveal that these cracks exhibit step-like propagation morphology,accompanied by O/Si element enrichment and Ti/Nb element segregation,consistent with the characteristics of ductility-dip cracking(DDC).This study provides a reference for establishing reasonable interpass temperature processes in nuclear power equipment welding.
