Research Progress on the Characteristics of Gut Microbiota in Dogs and Cats and the Regulatory Effects of Probiotics
摘要
Abstract
The gut microbiota plays a crucial role in regulating immune function,nutrient metabolism,and digestion and absorption in animals,significantly influencing intestinal homeostasis and host health.In recent years,probiotics have been widely utilized as safe and effective microecological agents to modulate the intestinal balance of dogs and cats,thereby promoting their overall health.However,the efficacy of probiotics is influenced by factors such as strain specificity and host variability,and their precise mechanisms require further investigation.Currently,researches on the gut microbiota of dogs and cats are still in its early stages.This review summarizes the characteristics of the gut microbiota in dogs and cats,its impact on nutrient metabolism and host health,and the regulatory effects of probiotics on the gut microbiota of dogs and cats.The aim is to provide a theoretical foundation for improving intestinal health in dogs and cats and advancing the development of functional pet foods.关键词
